Overview

One day, Jiang Xiaobai and his mother—who had fled their home years ago to escape the debt collectors from loan sharks—received news that his father, Jiang Daming, had suddenly passed away from an acute illness, leaving behind a substantial insurance payout. Chen Hao, an old friend of the deceased who came to break the news, along with Wang Cici, a livestreamer who sells funeral products, then joined Xiaobai on a journey from Beijing to Changsha to claim the compensation.
