Overview

A young mother attempts to carry on the Vietnamese tradition of đám giỗ with her young son. As she lights the incense, the ritual transports her back to memories of childhood and the grandmother who taught her how to carry tradition forward. But the memories reveal something she had forgotten. Now, she must decipher what it means to honor the past while making room for something of her own.
