C. Stewart Rodeheaver

Biography

Deputy Commanding General, First Army Brigadier General C. Stewart Rodeheaver serves as the Deputy Commanding General, First Army. In that role, he is responsible for the training, readiness oversight and mobilization of National Guard and Reserve units in the Continental United States and two U.S. territories. Most recently, he served as the Commander of the 48th Brigade Combat Team, Georgia Army National Guard, where he deployed his unit in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. General Rodeheaver was commissioned a Second Lieutenant from Officer Candidate School in 1974 at the Georgia Military Institute in Macon, GA, as the Honor Graduate. Prior to his commission, BG Rodeheaver was an enlisted Soldier, enlisting in 1971. His military education includes Quartermaster Basic Course, Quartermaster Advanced Course, Bradley Infantry Fighting Course, the United States Army Command and General Staff School, Armor Pre-command Course, and the United States Army War College. General Rodeheaver served his Battalion command time as Commander, 108th Armor Regiment, Calhoun, Georgia, which included a National Training Center rotation and an assignment as Senior Observer Controller for Operation Bright Star, Joint/Combined Forces-Egypt. Other key positions he has served include Adjutant, Military Intelligence Officer, Operations Officer and Executive Officer, all under the flag of the 48th Infantry Brigade (Mechanized). BG Rodeheaver also served the State as Commander, Regional Training Institute, Macon, GA, as the Deputy Commander for the 78th Troop Command, Georgia Army NG, and also as the Deputy Director for Joint Operations, (JOPES) at Dobbins Air Force Base, GA.
