Looking Back in Anger was a 1989 Hong Kong TV series and one of the most watched TVB series by Chinese people in Hong Kong and around the world. Many factors contributed to the success of this series. As well as its tragic but memorable storyline, this series featured a strong cast, with Felix Wong, Deric Wan, Carina Lau, Kathy Chow Hoi-Mei and Maggie Shiu. The popular theme song of the series "Yat sang ho kau" was sung by Danny Chan and later by Deric Wan himself.

Kin looks for Cho Kwan, and finds her. However, Cho Kwan refuses to budge, and decides to divorce Kin and go to Ethiopia to undertake voluntary work. Kin refuses to a divorce, and Cho Kwan decides to leave the matter for ten years. On hearing that Hong is sentenced to death, Kin hurries to Malaysia for the last meeting. Kin is regretful that Hong is going to die through his making. Hong requests for a last meeting with his son and asks Kin to arrange for it. Fearful of what will happen in the next life, Sai Bond finally agrees, especially since Yiu Kwok is dying of cancer. On attending a TV production, Kin recalls how he comes to meet Cho Kwan, and is full of regrets.
