The war is over. Although they no longer fear air raids, they continue to suffer from even greater shortages than during the war. At the Hojo household, Entaro (Taguchi Tomorowo) has found a new job, and Keiko (Ono Machiko) has also started working. However, Shusaku (Matsuzaka Tori), who was called up to join the Kaiheidan immediately after the end of the war, has yet to return. Suzu (Matsumoto Honoka) spends her days positively, hoping for her husband's safety. One autumn day, Suzu, worried about the state of her parents' home, decides to head to Hiroshima.
